Daniel Halász is Visiting Professor at CEU's Visual Studies Platform since September 2023, teaching photography and visual media at MA/PhD level courses and in the BA program 'Culture, Politics, and Society'. He is a visual artist working predominantly with photography, currently pursuing doctorate research at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and at KU Leuven / LUCA School of Art. His interests include the shifting forms of documentary creation, social change in small communities and rights advocacy in a digital age. Originally from Budapest, Hungary, he lived for extended periods in Paris, Brussels, New York City, Kampala, Glasgow, and York. Daniel is the recipient of numerous international awards and has exhibited his work in Europe, Israel, Russia and the US. He has led courses in photography at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and the Eszterhazy University in Hungary and tutored at the International Center of Photography in New York.
