Spotlight on Presidential Scholar Award Recipient Cacilia Regner

Cacilia Regner is first year student in CEU’s Culture, Politics and Society BA program (CPS). She is originally from Austria and, in addition to her studies, works at the Austrian Presseclub Concordia in Vienna.

Introducing Alumni Scholarship Recipient: Immanuel (Mani) Kuti-Alexander

Mani grew up in Cape Town in a South African-Hungarian family. After graduating from high school in 2021 he lived in Budapest. In addition to his studies, he worked for many years as an organizer in the climate justice movement. He has supported other causes as well, such as children’s rights, affordable housing, and efforts at decolonization in his school. Mani is an active member in his local Jewish community. This fall, he started the BA course in Culture, Politics and Society (CPS).

What is the one thing people should know about you?

Introducing Alumni Scholarship Recipient: Chorobek Sheranov

Chorobek is from Kyrgyzstan. He graduated high school and completed his senior year in the U.S with the FLEX exchange program. He has been involved in many extracurricular activities including sports, computer programming, olympiads, school clubs and volunteering activities. At CEU, he is enrolled in a BA program in Quantitative Social Sciences. 

What is your goal in life?

To become an expert in my field who will contribute to making Kyrgyzstan a better country with a better economy. I am ready for working in teams and leading them to win.

Students Tackle Public Finance Challenges at Economic Democracy Initiative Workshop

Fresh off completing their final exams and wrapping up a busy semester, fifty students from around the world gathered at Bard College’s campus in New York June 6-10, 2022 for the inaugural OSUN Economic Democracy Initiative’s Summer Workshop in Public Finance and Economic Policy.

CEU Climbs up the 2022 QS World University Rankings

According to the 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject, two CEU programs rank amongst the top 50 worldwide, with a further 3 in the top 100.

CEU President and Rector Shalini Randeria said, "Our rankings in Politics & International Studies and Philosophy continue to climb. I was also particularly pleased to see that we are now also ranked in Anthropology."

In Politics and International Studies, CEU rose in the QS rankings, from 25 to 24, and in Philosophy from 35 to 33.
